Mmmm kale chips. I’ve been on a big kale chip kick lately. I don’t particularly like raw kale, and chips are a good way to cook them up before they start wilting. I’ve been bringing them to my yoga teacher training course as a snack. Tasty and delicious. Here’s my recipe:
“CHEESY” KALE CHIPS
1 bunch kale
2 Tbs. olive oil
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp. sea salt (or to taste)
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1. Cut the stems out of the kale and rip into bite-sized pieces.
2. Toss with olive oil to coat each piece of kale and then mix in the nutritional yeast, sea salt, and cayenne.
3. Spread out on a sheet pan and bake at 300° for 25-30 minutes or until crispy.
There are tons of kale chip variations you can cook up- I’ve tried Sriracha, lime, and Tamari and even acoconut oil and chocolate, but these are my favorite. The trick is to not overdo it on the amount of oil. Experiment!
