Do you start your day off with warm lemon water? How about lemon water with cayenne?
Both are great for your health. It stimulates the liver (your main detox organ) and kick starts digestion. Start drinking these first thing in the morning and plain water will just seem boring.
I rarely get sick these days, but if the sniffles start to hit I want to maximize my morning drink by adding other goodies like turmeric and apple cider vinegar. Here’s why:
Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
Raw honey is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and loaded with vitamins and minerals.
Lemon is a natural detoxifier, supports the liver and kidneys, and is good for digestion. It also helps to create an alkaline environment in the body.
Apple cider vinegar helps to reduce mucus and sinus congestion. It also contains vital vitamins, minerals and enzymes, and has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties.
Cinnamon is antifungal and helps to regulate blood sugar (and it’s delicious!).
Cayenne pepper is great for circulation, metabolism, digestion, nutrient assimilation and will help clear the sinuses.
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp raw honey
1 Tbs fresh-pressed lemon juice
1 Tbs raw apple cider vinegar
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Stir all ingredients together, split into two glasses and toss them back!
