Here’s a tasty good-for-you and good-for-your-sweetie Valentine’s Day treat! They’re packed with nutrition and spicy chocolatey goodness (and aphrodisiacs!).
1/4 cup dried goji berries
1/2 cup raw cacao
5 Tbs hemp seeds
2+ Tbs coconut oil
1 Tbs nut butter (I used almond butter)
2 Tbs raw honey
2 Tbs ground flax seeds
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, or more to taste
1/4 tsp maca (optional)
1. Grind the goji berries in a coffee or spice grinder.
2. Mix 1/4 cup of the goji berries with the other ingredients until well combined and roll into inch-sized truffles. You might need to use up to a tablespoon more coconut oil if it’s really cold.
3. Roll each truffle in the leftover goji berry powder.
3. Chill before serving and store in the refrigerator or freezer.
For an extra kick, mix a dash of cayenne into the remaining goji berry powder to coat the truffles.
Makes about 10 truffles
