Meet Bianca and Sara, the fabulous duo behind The Friendly Fig, a fun vegan food and lifestyle blog. They have been kind enough to let me share their delicious Antioxidant Smoothie Bowl recipe! I love that veganism has inspired them to get creative in the kitchen. Check out all of their smoothies here and be sure to try some of their other recipes, like Jalepeño Guacamole or Cauliflower and Pistachio Soup. They also have a great article about ditching the labels.
“The Friendly Fig is a plant-based space for happy, healthy humans. As a writer, I have always wanted to start something, but never had the time or even the idea to get it going. When I adopted a vegan lifestyle, I decided that it was time to help spread the kind word! I am really focused on spreading the word about veganism – the benefits, the recipes… I want to show people that veganism is not deprivation! It is just as exciting, if not MORE exciting. Veganism has allowed me to be creative in the kitchen, and it is probably the best thing I could have done to improve my cooking! It is really a blast!! My best friend and blogging partner, Sara Day, has been interested in veganism for a while. With her help and voice, our site appeals to vegans, vegetarians, and just those in general who are flirting with a plant-based diet. I really love that we have this balance! I know a lot of people are interested in veganism (even if they are not vegan), so I think it is nice to have a different voice for those who may be making a slow transition. One of my favorite vegan quotes is: “It is not about being perfect. It is about doing the least damage and most good.” I think this quote rings true with our message. We hope to inspire vegans, vegetarians, and happy humans alike! Of course, I am also interested in much more than veganism, so I like to consider The Friendly Fig a lifestyle blog. There will be fun, positivity, music, style, health posts, inspiration… all that good stuff. If we can inspire one person through a post, we’ve done our jobs!”

Handful of frozen strawberrues, blueberries and raspberries
1/2 – 1 cup non-dairy milk

Add more non-dairy milk if needed, and dress it up with toppings! Bianca chose goji berries, chia seeds, dried coconut chips, sliced almonds, and mini dark chocolate chips. Check out my version with raspberries, bee pollen, coconut and cacao nibs here.
